Filming Log-Part 3

This next lot of shooting was shot all on a Sunday night as that was the only day we could all film due to other commitments. On this night I did get a lot of filming done at least 8 scenes which has really boosted my productions progress since the last shoot.

We shot scenes of the previous death carried out.I did this by filming a common feature of horror films- blood spatter up a door while shadows kind of act out the occurrence that's just happened.I said before in my first shot I noticed that the shadows added quite a deep and dark presence to the shots therefore I did get a lot of additional shots of these shadows as they may prove useful in the editing stage.A lot of props were involved within this shot.I have a interest in special effects make up therefore I used supply's from my personal make up kit to create this effects.Again I used a sofa light in order to sharpen up the shot and overall the whole of the shooting for this scene went well.

I then filmed the doorway sequence where we see (Ava) the main character look through the peep whole and see the figure that's been stalking her and react.I filmed this in quite an enclosed space therefore when I used the light it did make the shot really bright however, without the light it made the shot quite gritty.Throughout filming all of the shots I have I noticed because the lighting was sort of constant I would be able to editing stage put an effects on every shot. This will make the shots darker and give them all the same type of tones so, I think uses the light a discussing it in the editing stage will be the best bet for me.through looking at the doorway shots I have on my computer I can state that I am very happy with the shots that I have obtained and these shots are ready for the editing stage.

Previously I mentioned that I have an interest in special effects make up and within the trailer there is a shot where Ava (Main character)looks at the camera as I placed it at different angles while Ava is seen with mascara running down her face while blood tears escape the corner of her eye.I did the make up on Danielle my actress and it went really well she did look possessed and distort which is the look that I was going for.The shots I got are really effective however, I didn't anticipate how red the blood would shot up on the camera therefore, like the other shots I will have to change the hue and saturation in the editing stage in order to add the cold and dark feel I want for this shot.

Overall I am still behind my original scheduling script due to availability problems however, the day I got all of this footage really helped my progress of production.
