  Ted Trailer Analysis

The scene starts with some narration and light music while scrolling through the production and distribution company before playing a high angered shot of what looks like a house from 'The Grinch' ,which gives us our first comedic value.At first this trailer can be seen as a sort of fantasy film as within the voice over there is the mention of magic.We see a child hugging a teddy bear and all seems happy and delightful as the seen is also quite bright,which gives us the impression of the family feel good films.However as the voice over changes so does the seen.It jumps forwards to the future and we see the boy as an adult and the bear 'Ted' animated.we the two in a mid two shot,which shows all of the props around and we see the bear smoking and the man eating junk for.So immediately here all of our previous expectations have been banished. A non-diegetic light hearted tune seems to have been slowed down and put into this seen,which tells us that this film is a comedy as the it's so unreal within the first scene.We also know that its a comedy as,
'It's from the creators of Family Guy',which is one of the biggest animated comedy shows on television today.

The scene then cuts to the job having a chat however as a playful why Ted punches the man.This defiantly adds a comedy feel to this trailer as a teddy bear beating up a man is so far fetched its funny.Again Ted doing far fetched things is quite common within this trailer as we Ted drive a car,crash a car and overall do surreal things that you know a teddy will not do.

From the trailer we can see that a problem occurs as it is highlighted within dialogue that 'TED has to move out'.When this problem is approach the trailer changes the lightening to a sort of cold blue from the help of the location that it is a sad time,their are more two shots shown on screen to show the relationship between the characters and how they are going to develop throughout this film.However to keep sprits high within the film they quickly show TED's progression by using jump cuts to wide shots to show New York city and leaving us with a enigma as to whats going to happen.The bright colours from the natural lighting present a happy and upbeat mood with regards to the scenes that follow which again reiterates the fact that this film 'TED' is a comedy.This problem is quickly covered by the fast pace within the editing and as the sound is a still light and happy we as the audience quickly wait for the next laugh which are solely used within comedy films.

The events then follow TED finding his way in New York city and from acting the humorous elements are adding however only with the use of the concepts like camera,miss en scene,editing and sound are these made possible.The song featured towards the end,'How you like me now'by The heavy presents a kind of
